B. Colin Smith (President)

While efficient organizational and administrative abilities are desirable credentials, the search for good leadership must transcend all other attributes in the adult who gives direction to the NAFBF movement in the local community. Dedication to the goals and purpose of NAFBF is inherent in the volunteer aspect of those who serve, but not everyone who serves is gifted with the quality of leadership. Presidents must reflect these qualities if they are to be of benefit to youth.

B. Colin Smith has been involved in amateur baseball for over 35 years. He has been a coach of “Elite Travel Teams”, Association (Franchise) President, National Vice – President (AAU) and Event Creator of Youth Baseball Programming.

Before joining the ranks of amateur baseball, Mr. Smith enjoyed a lengthy career as a player. He was an All-State SS/Catcher in Ohio, a collegiate Catcher at the University of Central Florida and a Minor League Catcher in the NY Yankees organization before suffering a career ending injury to his knee.

In December of 2015, Mr. Smith survived two strokes, one of which was severe. It was his survival of these devastating events that he realized that he had much remaining to offer to amateur baseball. Through mutual friends, colleagues and lifelong baseball friends, Mr. Smith was referred to NAFBF. After extensive vetting Mr. Smith was welcomed into the organization.

Mr. Smith has been an Officer with CABA, AAU, USA Premier and NABF. Smith is ecstatic about his involvement with NAFBF and has pledged his allegiance to this organization and brings a wealth of knowledge to grow this outstanding organization.
